Beginners Paper Quilling
Paper quilling lets you coil and shape colourful strips of paper into beautiful works of art. This art form looks complicated and fiddly but we PROMISE you it is not as hard as it looks, and we consider it completely suitable for an absolute beginner.
Quilled projects are light, delicate and look very intricate. They give a strong sense that someone has put a lot of time in making them. We will provide a large selection of templates to choose from and a lovely box frame to mount your finished work. You will also leave the workshop with a quilling tool and a fine glue applicator to continue your new craft at home.
All materials are supplied plus beverages and light snacks.
Coming to you straight from the 80’s and 90’s……..PICKLED BUMS!
I have very fond memories of seeing these at church craft fairs as a child. We are bringing them back to perk up (snort) 2018.
In this 2 hour session you’ll get to make a pile of bums to stuff in a nicely decorated and labelled bum jar. They are NOT edible. We’ve had lots of folk thinking they are. Sadly not. But they ARE great as a cheeky secret Santa gift or to keep as a conversation starter with the Inlaws. These sessions will be 2 hours long, loaded with chocolate, mince pies and cheeky beverages (please feel free to bring a Christmas tipple if you wish to the evening sessions).
There is a small amount of sewing involved making these bums, but don’t worry! It is suitable for a complete beginner and for ages 6 +, so we have put on an afternoon session for those who wish to bring younger bum makers along.
This is a really fun, light hearted craft and if you are game for a giggle and a relaxed afternoon or evening, please come along. It may take away the stresses and worries of Christmas, if only for a few hours. Plus, you get to add blusher to a tiny bum crack and stuff it in a jar, what more could you want?!
8 places are available on each class and we have PLENTY of jars and materials. So feel free to make as many sets of pickled bums as you wish.
Intaglio printing is often referred to as drypoint etching. During this workshop we will be use pointed tools to etch (cut and mark) an acetate plate. The burr we create in the acetate will help hold ink in the recessed areas. Once etched, we will ink up and print our plate using an etching press.
We’ll be using a variety of lovely papers in our printing process, taking care to notice the differences that dampening the paper can make while printing.
This etching process requires you to hand draw marks onto your plate. If you feel free hand drawing is not your strong point, we have plenty of reference images you may use. The acetate we have is crystal clear and perfect for tracing an image for beginners or for those that just want to jump straight into the process without the worry of drawing out an image.
Beverages and light snacks are included as are all materials. This workshop is suitable for all ages.
